- 1809 The Floating Harbour opened with two entrance locks: North Entrance Lock 45ft wide and the South Entrance Lock 35ft wide
- 1849 Brunel’s work to enlarge the South Entry Lock was completed
- 1873 The Howard Entrance Lock was completed, Jessop North Entrance Lock was blocked and Brunel Swing Bridge moved to the New Lock.
- The replica swing Bridge was installed over Brunel Lock.
